Here is the Conversation for Wednesday September 12, 2007
Be for Each Other
1. Introduce yourselves. Have everyone share their favorite something. For instance, favorite movie, book, song, mood to be in.
Follow Jesus
1. What is your oxygen that keeps you excited about Jesus?
2. What are some thoughts you have about following Jesus this year?
Look Beyond Ourselves
1. Kyle talked about our lives spreading like wildfire. How can you live your life so that you are spreading Jesus everywhere you go?
2. How is this looking beyond ourselves?
Reflections
1. What was your favorite memory from your summer?
2. How have the first few days of school gone?

Hey guys,
At first when I saw the conversation I didn't really get excited because last year i felt like the questions were just really broad but now I think that this week wil actually help the groups get off to a good start with deeper questions but then also a little of the get to know you type of thing.

What up crew!
i just looked over the lesson this week and i really like how simple yet deep the questions are.
I think that the theme "looking beyond" ourselves is sweet b/c i think its something we can all relate to especially middle school students.

hey,
I liked the lesson but kinda thought that maybe I would do the refliction at the begining because its more "on the top" stuff and would go great with the get to know people stuff.Where the other questions are a deeper level.
I also liked the the fire and how it relates to our spirituallity,

Great analogy. Love a good analogy. I think this is a great kickoff lesson plan. Leaders keep in mind...if you havent seen your group this summer they will be chatty about catching up. I say get to know you's first beacuse the little interactions help lead to larger topics and conversations. i think/pray that all the groups dive into this week positively! Luck to you people!
I really like the whole ignite theme for the kickoff elevate. I think it's pretty creative but also very spiritual. I think that the kids will be able and excited to share what their "oxygen" is that keeps them excited about Jesus, and the wildfire analogy is also pretty straightforward but true. I think it's also important to talk about school during the reflections because I'm sure the kids will be pretty overwhelmed with that too, so it's good to let them open up and talk about that. Can't wait to start...see you tomorrow!

I can't wait for elevate to start. I think this week's conversation is going to go really well. I like having them start off with a question about themselves, i think it's a good way for them to get to know each other while also sharing a little something about themselves. Starting off with a pretty deep question sounds great because I think it will help to set the tone of small group and let the kids know what this year is all about!

Hey guys! The convo sounds good for the first Elevate..I like how the theme applies with faith and reality. It will be a deep start that everyone can relate to, and the kind of ice breaker questions will be fun too. I can't wait for tonight and I'll see everyone there!

Yeah, i think the questions are pretty good in general. Analogies are always nice
One question i don't think i will ask is "what is your favorite mood to be in" seeing as 7th grade boys would probably laugh at that one.
so...i guess i'll see you guys tonight
